Cancelling domain name deletion

For any domain name registered with the extensions .com, .net, .org, .tel, .asia, .info, .biz and .mobi, there is a "Redemption Grace Period" of 30 days following the deletion request. During that time, the domain name deletion request can be cancelled. NordNet Registrar will cancel the deletion (or retrieve the domain name being deleted) subject to the payment of retrieval fees amounting to 145 euros excluding tax. The domain name renewal costs are added to this fee. After cancellation of the deletion, domain name registration is "restored" with the information concerning the ownerThe domain name owner is the legal or natural person in whose name the domain is registered. This is therefore the 'owner' of the domain name for the chosen registration period., contacts and DNSDNS (Domain Name System) servers match a domain name and an IP address (actual address of a machine consisting of numbers): when an Internet user enters an address in his browser, the DNS server converts it into an IP address that computers and networks can understand. that was in the Whois before deletion.

Renewal with the Register and with NordNet

The domain names NordNet is authorised to register are automatically renewed (auto-renewal), on expirty, in the Register databases for the extensions concerned.
For .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .mobi, .asia and .tel, this renewal can be cancelled within forty (40) days following the domain name renewal date.
For .eu, .be, .re and .fr, this renewal can be cancelled before the end of the month following the domain name renewal date.

The renewal of your domain name in the NordNet databases is not automatic, however. You must expressly request it by notifying our office before expiry, either using the link (Renew a domain name at a cost of €29 ex tax, or €34.68 with tax) or through your service provider. Implementation of your request is subject to payment (by your or your service provider) of the service renewal fee. This means that if the renewal of your domain name is not confirmed within the deadlines mentioned above, NordNet will cancel the renewal carried out by the Register.

Because your domain name is renewed automatically by the Register (unlike in NordNet), the time remaining for your domain name during the 40 days mentioned above can appear differently according to whether you search in the Register Whois databases (or any other third party using the Register databases) or in the NordNet databases.

Life span of your domain name

When a domain name expires, if you wish to keep it you must renew it within the deadlines and under the conditions defined by NordNet or your service provider. Implementation of your renewal request is subject to payment of the relevant fee.

When your payment has been confirmed by our office, we confirm the automatic renewal of your domain name in .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .mobi, .asia or .tel in the Register. If renewal does not occur via this site or via your service provider, within 40 days following the expiry of your domain name, NordNet will inform you by direct mail that your domain name has been locked and could be deleted.

Implementation of your request is subject to payment by you or your service provider of the service renewal fee. This means that if the renewal of your domain name is not confirmed by our office under the conditions and within the deadlines defined, NordNet will cancel the automatic renewal of your domain name with the Register and will initiate the request to delete your domain name.
